Different organisations condemned Saturday's attack of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) workers on the cultural activists at Jahangirnagar University (JU). Expressing deep concern over the several months' unrest at JU, Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK) in a press release yesterday urged the authorities concerned to take strict action against the BCL activists who made attack on the cultural activists to ensure congenial atmosphere in the university. Bangladesh Chhatra Union also protested the BCL attack. The organisation in a press release demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and removal of the university's Vice-Chancellor Prof Shariff Enamul Kabir to end the unrest for over three months. A group of JU BCL workers on Saturday beat up at least 15 cultural activists of the university for protesting the pro-government student body's vandalism at a demonstration by teachers.
