New Dhaka-Sylhet train from today
Bangladesh Railway (BR) is set to launch the fourth intercity train service on Dhaka-Sylhet route today.
“The new intercity train 'Kalny Express' named after a river of Sylhet region would be launched at 3:00pm tomorrow (today),” an official of the Ministry of Railways told the news agency yesterday.
Communications Minister Obaidul Quader, who is also in charge of the ministry, will inaugurate the new train in the capital's Kamalapur Rail Station.
BR Joint Director General (operation) SM Mia Jahan said the train would have 12 coaches of four categories, including air conditioned and first class compartments.
Officials said the Kalny Express would leave Dhaka for Sylhet at 3:00pm every day while leave Sylhet for Dhaka at 6:40am and reach Kamalapur at 1:00pm.
