Language Movement hero Waliullah Oltu of Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga district died of a cardiac arrest at his residence here yesterday at the age of 74.
Waliullah, popularly known as Oltu Sir, was a lifelong bachelor. He left behind a host of relatives, friends and students to mourn his death.
During the Language Movement in 1952, he was sent to jail for violating the Section-144 at Alamdanga.
He was laid to rest at Alamdanga Darus Salam Graveyard.
