ITLOS verdict an 'achievement' not 'conquest'
There has been a big uproar over government's maritime 'conquest'. Allied parties are praising the government to the skies, while the opposition is criticising the ITLOS verdict. The Daily Star article entitled '“Conquest” of the Bay!' on 3rd May has drawn our attention. The writer sarcastically mentioned our preference for celebration. Ironically, our legislators are susceptible to pomposity. Government deserves commendation for reinstating our right in the Bay, but they should be less showy.
