40 students get Concord scholarship
Forty meritorious students of ten schools of Chittagong city were presented with scholarships while ten of their teachers with awards at the “2nd Foy's Lake Concord Scholarship 2011” yesterday.
Concord Entertainment Company Limited organised the programme at Foy's Lake Amusement Park of the city.
The students were selected on the basis of their results in class five and eight and the 2012 SSC exam.
The schools are Chittagong Collegiate School, Dr Khastagir Government Girls' High School, Chittagong Cantonment Public School and College, Bangladesh Women Association Girls' High School, Government Muslim High School, Chittagong Government High School, Nasirabad Government High School, Aparnacharan City Corporation Girls' High School, Chittagong Government Girls' High School and Saint Scholastica Girls' High School.
Students of the schools later performed at a cultural programme, witnessed by Chittagong Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Dr Mohammad Ali Chowdhury and Examination Controller Dr Pijush Datta, Prothom Alo Resident Editor Abul Momen and Dainik Azadi Managing Editor Wahid Malek.
Concord Group Chairman SM Kamaluddin was present as the chief guest at the programme with its Vice Chairman Farida Kamal, Managing Director SK Lala and Deputy Managing Director Shahriar Kamal.
