Alleged robber beaten to deathb
A mob beat an alleged robber to death in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali early yesterday.
The victim was identified as Selim, son of Golam Maula of Char Amanullah in the upazila.
Police said locals chased a gang of robbers when they were preparing for a robbery at the house of one Anwarul Haque in Char Kazi Mokhles area around 3:00am.
The villagers caught Selim and beat him dead on the spot while the others of his group managed to flee.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Noakhali Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Anwarul Haque, sub-inspector of Char Jabbar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
