Khalek Miah passes away
Md Abdul Khalek Miah, elder brother of late noted nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah and brother-in-law of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, passed away yesterday at his residence at Fatehpur village of Pirganj upazila in Rangpur at the age of 81.
He left behind his wife, four sons and three daughters to mourn his death.
He was buried at his family graveyard after namaz-e-janaza at his house after Asr prayers.
Rangpur Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Rejina Razzaq, Rangpur Begum Rokeya University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Abdul Jalil Miah, Rangpur district Awami League President Abul Mansur Ahmed and General Secretary Rezaul Karim Raju and Rangpur town Awami League President Shaiyar Rahman and General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mondal condoled his death and conveyed sympathy to members of the bereaved family.
