Two killed in road accident
Two persons were killed in a collision between a sand-laden tractor and a tempo on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj yesterday.
The deceased were Abu Kalam, 28, son of Jamal Miah of the upazila's Mortezabagh, and Pius, 32, son of Carlus of Gomastapur Marakali in Chapai Nawabganj. They were both factory workers of Robin Tex Garments.
Atiqur Rahman, officer in-charge of Rupganj Police Station, said the tempo was smashed and the tractor fell into a roadside ditch in the incident, which occurred at the upazila's Aukhabo area in the morning.
Two passengers of the tempo and its driver were also injured in the incident and were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said police.
