On information, members of proctor's body along with law enforcers rushed brought the situation under control. Forhad, a language department student, alleged that some BCL men, led by Tuhinul and Tanim, demanded Tk 50,000 extortion from him on Wednesday, denying which they assaulted him and called his father, threatening to kill Forhad if not given the cash. His brother also sent Tk 5,000 through courier service to the activists, he said, adding that the BCL activists chased him yesterday for the rest of the money. Tuhinul and Tanim, however, said they took Tk 5,000 from Forhad as he snatched a mobile phone set from one of their followers recently. The two sides, however, denied the allegations.
