3 Shibir men held in Ctg
Police arrested three activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) from Chandgaon in the port city yesterday on charge of vandalising vehicles at the BNP protest programme on May 13.
The arrestees were Abdus Shakur, president of ICS Chittagong district east unit, Ershad Ullah, office secretary of the unit, and Moslem Uddin, financial secretary of the unit.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Chandgaon Police Station raided a residence of Chandrima Residential Area around 2:30am and arrested the trio.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syed Ahsanul Islam of Chandgaon Police Station said the arrestees were involved with the incident of vandalising vehicles at the BNP's country-wide protest programme on May 13.
The trio were handed over to Kotwali Police Station where a case was lodged against them, the OC said.
