'Ensure quality goods'

Speakers at a discussion urged the government to ensure quality goods with exact measurement. They made the call at a discussion, organised by Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI) at CCCI conference room yesterday on the occasion of the World Metrology Day. General Secretary of Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) Iqbal Bahar Sabery said essential goods must be good in quality and consumers must be aware of the quality of goods with exact measurement. He stressed the need for mass awareness alongside the government initiatives to stop fraudulence in this regard. The World Metrology Day with the slogan “Metrology for Safety” was observed in the country yesterday. ADC of Chittagong Nurul Islam and president of CAB, Chittagong SM Nazer Hossain were also present at the discussion, presided over by Regional office chief of BSTI, Chittagong Engineer SM Ishaque Ali.
