Two female domestic help commit suicide
Two teenage female domestic help allegedly committed suicide at Azampur and Moghbazar in the capital on Monday night.
Police recovered the body of Dulali Akhter, 14, around 11:30pm from the house of one Benzir Ahmed near Azampur Kitchen Market at Dakkhinkhan.
Dulali, daughter of Zahirul Haque of Rajshahi, was hanging from a ceiling fan with her scarf around her neck.
Dakkhinkhan Police said the girl had a love affair with a driver of the apartment and might have committed suicide due to problems with the relationship.
Meanwhile, Marufa Akhter, aged around 17, committed suicide at her employer's house at Mirbazar of Moghbazar.
On information, police recovered the body which was hanging from the shower of a washroom around 11:30pm.
Quoting her employer, Officer-in-Charge of Ramna Police Station Shah Alam said the girl had a love affair with a youth in the area. Marufa stole some valuables from the house a few months ago and gave it to the youth as per his plan.
Police arrested the youth but he walked out of jail just a few days ago.
Police suspected that the incident of theft created complications between them which led the girl to suicide.
