BCL factional clash injures 2

Two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured in a factional clash at Omar Gani MES College in the port city yesterday. The injured, Shakil and Rotan Dey, were undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said Nayek Md Mijanur Rahman of CMCH police outpost. Witnesses said two students locked into an altercation over occupying a sitting place on the campus that triggered a clash between two factions of the BCL. During the clash, they attacked one another with sticks. Khulshi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mafiz Uddin said: “The clash started with crossing words between two students on a trifling matter and later it followed by chasing and counter-chasing between the two BCL fractions, led by Washim and Arju.” “On information, we came here and brought the situation under control,” he said. Arju and Washim could not be contacted for their remarks regarding the incident.
