RU syndicate member polls today
The election of syndicate members from the dean categories of Rajshahi University (RU) will be held today.
The Awami League-backed yellow panel candidate Mamunur Rashid Talukdar (Sabuj), dean of engineering faculty, and Pro-BNP-Jamaat white panel candidate Amzad Hossain, dean of Business Studies faculty, will contest for the post.
Election commissioner Prof MA Bari, also registrar of the university, said the election would be held from 8:00am to 2:00pm at teachers' lounge in Zuberi Bhaban. A total of 1012 teachers from 48 departments will cast their votes.
Earlier, the elections of dean, syndicate, academic council and other categories were held on April 25 in which Awami League-backed yellow panel got 15 posts while pro- BNP-Jamaat white panel five posts, including three deans and two posts of syndicate member.
