5 'muggers' handed over to police
Local people handed over five alleged muggers to police after giving them a good beating at Keraniganj last night.
Keraniganj Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector Rafiqul Islam said six snatchers, including a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, gathered along with the vehicle at an abandoned place near Anwar City area at around 9:00pm.
Local people suspected that they were preparing to commit mugging and caught them.
The locals recovered five knives after beating them, Rafiqul said, adding that the police rescued the snatchers and took them to Mitford Hospital for treatment.
