Resolve gas, power, water crises
Speakers urge govt
Speakers at a meeting yesterday urged the government to resolve the on-going power and water crises in the port city immediately.
Chittagong Gas-Electricity-Water Consumer Welfare Association organised the programme at Chittagong Press Club. People from different professions, including journalists, teachers, politicians and poets, spoke.
They called for collecting suggestions from people of all walks of life regarding solution to the crises.
Mazharul Haque Shah, former lawmaker and also convener of the organisation, presided over the function.
He said although crises of gas, electricity and water were national problem, but in Chittagong, this problem should be mitigated immediately because it was the commercial city in the country.
The development of the country was possible if the development of Chittagong was ensured, he added.
