2 workers fall from ladder, die
Two construction workers died after falling from under-construction buildings at Badda and Wari in the capital yesterday.
The deceased were Md Lutfar Rahman, 30, hailed from Godagari upazila in Rajshahi, and Mohammad Rana, 30, hailed from Chapainawabganj and residing in Wari.
Lutfar fell from a makeshift ladder when he was plastering the outer wall of the first floor of a seven-storey building at Nurer Chala in Badda at noon, said his co-worker Jahangir Alam.
He fell on the road after hitting an electric pole, Jahangir added.
Lutfar was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, Rana was injured after he slipped down from a ladder while plastering the outer wall of a five-storey building on Abhoy Das Lane in Wari around 10:30am.
He was admitted to DMCH where he died at 1:30pm.
