Valuables worth Tk 10 lakh looted

A gang of seven to eight robbers looted valuables worth around Tk 10 lakh after breaking into a house in Raozan upazila of Chittagong early yesterday. One robber entered through a ventilator of the house at Putiya village under Noapara union, owned by Dubai expatriate Abdur Rahim and Abdul Majed, at around 4:00am and let the others in, said police. Holding up the four women residents at gunpoint, the robbers bagged 13 tolas of gold ornaments, Tk 50,000, one laptop and three cellphones and made a quick getaway, said Abdur's brother-in-law, Ahmed Sayed. Police said they recovered two knives the robbers left behind at the crime scene.
