Transport strike in Rangpur from June 5
Rangpur divisional unit of Transport Workers Federation has called for a 72-hour transport strike in eight districts of the division from June 5.
The unit gave the call at a press conference held at Rangpur central bus terminal on Monday to press home its 10-point demand.
The demands include ban on Nasimon, Karimon, Bhutbhuti and battery-run auto-rickshaw on highways,withdrawal of 'false' cases against Rangpur District Transport Workers Union General Secretary MA Majid, removal of illegal markets from the highways, appointment letters of transport workers and pay rise of drivers and helpers.
