Sajeda acting AL chief
Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury will act as the president of the ruling party following the departure of the party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for Qatar on a two-day official visit.
Sajeda, also deputy leader of the House, will discharge her duties as the acting chief of the party, said an AL press release.
The premier left Dhaka for Doha in a special flight yesterday morning and is scheduled to return today.
