DSCC recovers 23 kathas of land

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) yesterday recovered 23 kathas of land from encroachers by demolishing a two-storey building and around 50 kancha structures at Nazimuddin Road in Chankharpool. DSCC Executive Magistrate Ananda Kumar Biswas, who led the drive, said a syndicate along with some employees of Roads and Highway Department occupied the land. He said they also found over hundred empty bottles of phensedyl in the kancha structures. "We served eviction notice to the dwellers before the drive and 95 percent residents cleared their structures before the drive," he said.
