1,200 Yaba tablets seized
Two arrested
Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested with 1,200 Yaba tablets in separate drives of the law enforcers in Chittagong city yesterday and Wednesday night.
The arrestees are Md Helal Uddin, 19, of Cox's Bazar and Md Jamir Uddin, 35, of Lohagara upazila, Chittagong.
In a drive, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) detained Helal and seized 800 Yaba tablets worth around Tk 2.8 lakh from him, raiding Jongi Shah Mazar Lane area under Chandgaon Police Station Wednesday night, says a press release.
Rab claimed that Helal had admitted his involvement in Yaba trading.
In another raid, police arrested Jamir Uddin and seized 400 Yaba tablets worth about Tk 50,000 from him. On a tip, police raided Jaman Hotel and Restaurant in CDA Avenue area under Khulshi Police Station and made the arrest yesterday, says a press release.
A case was filed in this connection with Khulshi Police Station.
