Eight hurt in BNP factional clash
At least eight activists of BNP were injured in a factional clash in Azimpur area of the capital yesterday.
The clash ensued around 11:00am before the party chairperson Khaleda Zia reached Battola in the area to distribute food among the destitute on the occasion of 31st death anniversary of the party founder and late president Ziaur Rahman.
Lalbagh police said supporters of Azam commissioner found a lot of posters and festoons containing portraits of Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu at the programme and asked Pintu's supporters to remove them. It triggered a clash that left at least eight people from the two groups injured.
