6 shops fined

A mobile court yesterday in separate drives fined a manufacturer of drinking water and six shops Tk 1 lakh in the port city. The mobile court fined Tk 50,000 to AMS International, a manufacturer of drinking water at Halishahar, for illegally using BSTI seal in its product. In another drive, the court fined a fish shop Tk 25,000 for using formalin in the fish at Kazir Dewri kitchen market. Four butchers were also fined Tk 5,000 each for selling meat without the prior permission of the CCC. Yet another drive, it fined Tk 5,000 to a herbal medicine shop at Nur Ahmed Road for using obscene words in their paper advertisement.
