MoU signed for mothers, children

Strengthening Partnerships, Results and Innovations in Nutrition Globally (SPRING), will work jointly with Bangladesh government to improve health and nutrition status of pregnant and lactating women and children aged under two in the country. The SPRING and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard yesterday, said a press release. Dr Makhduma Nargis, additional secretary at the health ministry, Dr Md Ekhlasur Rahman, director of Institute of Public Health and Nutrition, also line director for National Nutrition Service of the ministry, and Elizabeth Isimhen Williams, country manager of the SPRING, signed the MoU in the capital. Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the SPRING is a five-year Cooperative Agreement to strengthen global and country efforts to scale up high impact nutrition practices and policies and improve maternal and child nutrition outcomes.
