Prisoner dies
An under trial prisoner, who had become seriously sick in Narayanganj district jail, died at Narayanganj General Hospital on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Firoj, 28.
Toriqul Islam, jailer of Narayanganj district jail, said Firoj felt sick at around 10:00pm and later shifted to the hospital from the prison hospital as his condition deteriorated. He died there at around 11:30pm.
The body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Firoj was arrested in a drug peddling case about two months ago, said police.
