7 get double life terms for murder
A Natore court on Thursday afternoon sentenced seven persons to double life term imprisonment in a double murder case of 1993.
The convicts are Shahidul Islam alias Mukta, Abdul Karim, Moksed, Mokhles, Bakul, Mozaffar, and Khoka of Chorlokkhikol village under the district.
Natore Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Zahidul Islam pronounced the verdict.
Nine others were acquitted, as charges against them were not proved.
On October 9, 1993, in a dispute over collecting water, two brothers, Helal and Halim were seriously injured.
They were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where they died.
Victims' father Abdul Hamid Molla on October 13 filed a case with Natore Police Station against 16 persons.
