Two commit 'suicide' in Thakurgaon
A girl and a housewife allegedly committed suicide at Ghonimoheshpur and Doulatpur villages under Sadar upazila on Saturday and early yesterday.
Police said, Juli Akhter, 12, daughter of Johirul Islam of Ghonimoheshpur village under Sadar upazila killed herself on Saturday night.
Family sources said that the minor girl, following a family feud, committed suicide by hanging herself from a beam of her room at about 9:00pm.
On information, police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
In another incident, a housewife allegedly committed suicide at Doulatpur village under the same upazila.
Victim Hafiza Begum, 35, was wife of Shukur Mian of the village.
Police and family sources said that around 5:00am yesterday the housewife committed suicide by hanging herself from the branch of a mango tree beside her house.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
The housewife had been suffering from abdominal pain for long. This might be the reason behind her suicide, police said.
Two unnatural death (UD) cases were filed with Thakurgaon police station.
