Housewife 'kills herself' in capital
A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling in her bedroom following a family feud in the capital's Dakkhin Khan area early yesterday.
The deceased was Jhumur Aktrar, 22, wife of Niaz Morshed of Faidabad of the area.
Niaz Morshed told journalists that he got married to Jhumur, who belonged to Hindu religion, six years back.
But Jhumur's family did not accept the marriage that made her frustrated, he said.
"We used to make quarrel regularly because of the frustration," he said adding, "We made quarrel over a silly matter on Saturday night".
“We went to bed around 12:00am after the incident. But I found her hanging from the ceiling with a scarf after getting up from the bed around 6:00am,” Morshed said.
