Passing out parade of navy held at Khulna
The passing out parade marking the induction of A/2012 batch of new entry sailors of Bangladesh Navy was held in Khulna yesterday morning.
Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Zahir Uddin Ahmed attended as chief guest the ceremony on BNS Titumir parade ground in Khulna.
He congratulated the newly inducted sailors for choosing a profession related to national security and prosperity.
He called upon them to build up their competency through implementing the knowledge that they acquired from the navy academy in their work.
With retrospect of the spirit and sacrifices of the freedom fighters, the navy chief urged the sailors to go ahead with determination to defend the independence and sovereignty of the country at any cost.
He said, with the sincere efforts of the government, navy would be emerged as a three dimension organisation. He also urged all naval personnel to put in efforts to achieve this goal.
Earlier, the navy chief reviewed the smartly turned out parade and took salute at the march past.
He also distributed awards among the outstanding new entry sailors.
Principal staff officers of Naval Headquarters, commodore commanding of Khulna and local high civil and military officials of Khulna were also present at the programme.
