CDA officer sent to jail in arms case
A Chittagong court sent estate officer of Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) Alamgir Khan Chhoton to jail yesterday in an arms case.
The court of First Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Golam Sorwar passed the order rejecting the bail prayer when the accused surrendered before the court, said the court sources.
The court fixed July 31 for the hearing on the case.
Rab men seized one pistol and nine bullets from Alamgir's car at BRTC intersection in Chittagong city on May 1, 2011.
Later, a case was filed with Kotwali police.
Police submitted a charge sheet to the court accusing Alamgir and four others on November 9, 2011.
Following the incident the CDA authority made him an OSD.
