Hermaphrodites conference held in Ctg
Hermaphrodites (Hijra) in Chittagong city yesterday demanded recognition as normal human beings and a better life.
They made the demands at the Hermaphrodites Conference-2012 organised by Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) with the assistance of Bandhu Social Welfare Society and Nanggar Samaj Unnayan Sangstha, two NGOs, at Theatre Institute, Chittagong.
CCC Mayor M Monjur Alam, while addressing as chief guest, said they would manage birth certificates for the hermaphrodites and provide them with health cards for taking treatment at health centers in all wards under CCC.
CCC Social Welfare and Community Centre Standing Committee President Md Hasan Murad was present among others.
