Student mugged in Khulna

Unidentified criminals posing as members of Detective Brunch (DB) of police picked up a college student and robbed him of Tk 65,000 in Khulna city yesterday. The victim Foysal Ahmed, an honours student of Govt Azam Khan Commerce College, said some 6 to 7 people forced him in a microbus while he was waiting for a rickshaw after withdrawing the money from a bank at Shibbari Intersection around 2.00pm. Later, the criminals dropped him from microbus in Rayer Mohol area under Dumuria police station in Khulna, Foysal said. On information, police sent message to all strategic points, but they could not arrest anyone, said Abdullah-al-Mamun, a sub-inspector at Sonadanga Model Police Station.
