N'ganj journo lives in fear after report
A journalist of a national daily alleged that he has been living in fear of harassment, assault, murder, and forced disappearance for writing a report on the bomb blast attack on Chashara Awami League office on June 16, 2001.
Asif Hossain, district correspondent of Bangla Daily Prothom Alo, on Saturday night submitted a letter to Narayanganj Press Club seeking help in this connection.
In the letter, Asif said that he is living in fear after former AL lawmaker Shamim Osman's speech on Saturday night where he urged Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to interrogate Asif in connection with the bomb blast following a report published in the Bangla daily on June 15.
Khandakar Shah Alam, general secretary of Narayanganj press club, confirmed Asif's letter.
