Mobile court fines two sweet factories in Ctg

A mobile court in Chittagong yesterday fined two sweet manufactures Tk 1.5 lakh for making sweets items in unhygienic environment, using non-food graded colour and selling those with the logo of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) without its approval. The court fined New Model Food Products Tk 1 lakh and Mishti Mukh Tk 50,000, while members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7) destroyed unhygienic sweets worth around Tk 10,000. A team of the Rab-7 led by Sub-Inspector Syed Bashir Ahmed and KM Hanif, assistant director at BSTI in Chittagong, assisted the court during the drive.
