Woman kills stepson
A mother allegedly strangulated to death her stepson at Sunder village in Pirgachha upazila in Rangpur yesterday.
Quoting locals, police said Firni Begum, second wife of Mobarok Hossain of the village, killed her stepson Polash, 8, in absence of her husband. Later, she dumped the body into a pond beside their house.
Locals found the body floating in the pond and informed to police.
Rawshan Mostafa, officer-in-charge at Pirgachha Police Station, said the victim's father filed a case with the police station.
Police arrested Firni Begum.
