Human trafficker arrested
Police arrested an alleged leader of a human trafficking gang from Baganghona area in Naikhangchhari upazilla in Bandarban on Friday.
Nabagopal Das, sub-inspector at Patenga Police Station, said they arrested Mohammad Sharif, 55, of Baganghona in the upazila as he is involved in human trafficking from the country's different areas to Malaysia.
On June 6, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) rescued 26 men from Chinese Ghat area of Naval Academy road in Chittagong when they were being trafficked to Malaysia. Three members of the trafficking syndicate were also arrested on that day.
