The government is working to formulate a strategy paper for the nation to curb corruption and establish good governance in the country, said Finance Minister AMA Muhith yesterday. “The main objectives of formulating the national strategy for integrity are to establish good governance and check corruption,” he told reporters after presiding over a meeting on National Integrity Strategy held at his ministry in the afternoon. Muhith said forming a national integrity strategy was part of the incumbent government's election promises. He said the meeting was held to move the strategy to a final stage, and more meetings will be held to make progress in this regard. “Discussion is on and there will be more discussions,” he added. He said curbing corruption and establishing good governance are among the top five priorities of the government. Prime Minister's Advisers Dr Mashiur Rahman, Dr Gowher Rizvi and Dr Towfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, among others, attended the meeting.
