Nursing College
Classes remain suspended
Classes at state-run Sylhet Nursing College remained suspended for the second day yesterday since its 178 students were forced out of the institution on Tuesday.
Measures are going on to end the stalemate, the college principal Shilpi Rani Chakravarty said yesterday.
She said letters would be sent to the students' guardians soon requesting them to attend a meeting on July 1.
The authorities were compelled to force the students out of the institution as they went unruly and remained absent from their night duties at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital since June 24, Shilpi said.
The students alleged the college authorities imposed a seven-day night duty a month on them while it is only three days in other medical colleges. They protested against it.
