Confce on Charles Dickens at IUB
A two-day national conference on Charles Dickens and Robert Browning began at the Bashundhara campus of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) in the capital yesterday.
The conference, organised by the university's English department, was inaugurated by Towhid Samad, chairman, Board of Trustees of the IUB, says a press release.
Prof M Omar Rahman, vice chancellor (VC) of IUB, spoke as special guest while Prof Nurul Islam, VC of Eastern University, presented the keynote paper.
Prof Nazrul Islam, dean of School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences of IUB, Prof Niaz Zaman, adviser of the English department and Prof Razia Sultana Khan of the department also spoke.
