Accused flees from police custody
An alleged criminal fled from Monirampur Police Station by breaking a grill of the custody in Jessore district on Thursday night.
The accused is Suvonkar Sumon, 26, son of Monthor Mistri of Pashchim Gondhoppur in Kaukhali upazila of Pirojpur district.
Sub-Inspector Uttam Kumer said Sumon was held from Rohita Bazaar area at noon on the day with a stolen motorbike. At 10:00am yesterday, police found that he fled after breaking the opposite grill of duty officer room.
Contacted, the duty officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector Helaluzaman, said he did not know when Sumon fled the scene.
Officer-in-Charge AKM Ajmol Huda said they informed the higher authorities concerned of the incident. The drive to arrest Sumon is going on, he added.
