DSCC fixes meat prices for Ramadan

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) yesterday fixed the prices of beef and mutton for the upcoming month of Ramadan. As per the new rates, one kilogram (kg) of beef of local cattle will be sold at Tk 275 and that of foreign cattle at Tk 260, mutton at Tk 425 and buffalo meat at Tk 250. The prices were fixed by the DSCC Administrator Zillar Rahman during a views-exchange meeting with meat traders at Nagar Bhaban in the capital. The traders will have to display the price chart in their shops and follow it from Ramadan 1 to 26. The meat traders pledged to do so properly and requested the authorities concerned not to run mobile court drive during the period. The price of per kg beef of local cattle had been fixed in the last Ramadan at Tk 270 and foreign cattle at Tk 250, mutton at Tk 400 and buffalo meat at Tk 240. Chief Executive Officer of DSCC Sultanul Islam and Chief Health Officer Brig Gen Md Abdullah Al Harun; leaders of Bangladesh Mangsha Byabshayee Samity and Dhaka Metropolitan Mangsha Byabshayee Samity were, among others, present at the meeting.
