Yaba Haul Case
Judgment on Amin, Ahsanul July 8
Judgment of a Yaba haul case filed against businessman Amin Huda, nephew of businessman Aziz Mohammad Bhai, and his close aide Ahsanul Haque Hasan, will be delivered on July 8.
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) seized 130,000 Yaba tablets, 5,000 Yaba's alternative drugs from the possession of Amin and Ahsanul at their Gulshan office in the capital on October 25, 2007.
This is the largest ever Yaba haul in the country.
Rab also arrested them from the spot.
After completion of arguments, Judge Mohammad Motahar Hossain of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 of Dhaka yesterday fixed the judgment date. The court also cancelled bail of the accused and ordered to send them to jail.
Earlier, the court recorded statements of 30 prosecution witnesses.
The Rab also seized 818 SIM cards, one sex stimulating tablet, 139 bottles of foreign liquor, three pieces of IPS, one local area network switch, 12 quantum, 15 cellphones, a pair of handcuffs, six computer CPUs, $1,900, 100 Hong Kong dollars, three Saudi riyals, 450 euro, 2,500 Thai bahts, 125 Indian rupees, Tk 46,01,422, one laptop, 159 telluler, one gear switch, two channel boxes, three PC monitors, 2.5 litre Orthophosphoric acid, one bottle Dietheylethol and 10 tolas of gold.
Illegal voice over internet protocol (VoIP) equipment worth over Tk 5 crore was also seized from Manticor Technology Ltd office.
