Battery factory gutted
Fire gutted a battery curing chamber at the factory of Navana Batteries Limited in Sitakunda upazila yesterday noon.
Due to over-heating in the curing chamber, the fire originated and burnt the batteries inside the chamber, said fire service sources.
Two fire fighting units doused the flame after one and a half hours' effort.
The loss caused by the fire was estimated at Tk 20 lakh, said the fire service officials.
