Four killed in road accidents
Four people were killed and four others inured in separate road accidents in Netrakona, Satkhira, Thakurgaon and Bagerhat on Sunday and yesterday.
Our Netrakona correspondent reports, Abdus Sattar, 35, of village Alampur in Kendua upazila, was killed instantly as a bus knocked down him while he was crossing Kendua-Atharobari road at Terirchor Chowrasta in the upazila Sunday night.
In Satkhira, Rakibul Islam, 2, son of Anisur Rahman of Bhairabnagar village, was killed and three others injured when a truck hit them on Satkhira-Khulna highway at Bhairabnagar intersection in Tala upazila yesterday.
The injured are Sabina Yesmin, 8, Rakibul's elder sister, Sabikunnahar, 25, wife of Omar Ali, and her son Palash, 2.
Sabina was rushed to Satkhira Sadar Hospital while Sabikunnahar and Palash were admitted to a clinic at Patkelghata.
In Thakurgaon, Amzad, 65, was injured as a bus hit him while he was crossing Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway at BRTC Bus Stand in the municipality area on Friday afternoon.
He succumbed to his injuries at Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital yesterday morning.
UNB from Bagerhat adds, motorcyclist M Sohel Hossain, 30, of Madaripur district, was killed and another injured as their motorcycle turned turtle on Khulna-Mawa highway at Madrasahghat in Mollahat upazila on Sunday night.
They were rushed to Mollahat Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared Sohel dead.
