Geetanjali Award
Abdul Matin, Anisuzzaman nominated
Language Movement veteran Abdul Matin and noted academician Professor Emeritus Dr Anisuzzaman of Dhaka University have been nominated for the Geetanjali Honorary Award 2012 for their contribution in the country's arts, literature, and culture.
The award will be presented on July 13, the 8th founding anniversary of Geetanjali Lalitakala Academy, at a function held in the capital's Small and Cottage Industry Training Institute auditorium, said a press release.
Top-level government officials, cultural personalities, diplomats, journalists, and other eminent personalities are expected to attend the function.
Late National Professor Kabir Chowdhury, National Professor Mustafa Nurul Islam, noted academician Prof Zillur Rahman Siddiqui, among others received the award in the last few years.
