SCC announces new budget
Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) yesterday announced its budget of Tk 354.23 crore for 2012-2013 fiscal year.
This year it is Tk 79 crore higher than that of the last year.
The SCC would spent Tk 275 crore for development projects, said Mayor Badar uddin Ahmed Kamran at a press conference in Sylhet Zila Parishad Hall in the city.
The projects include construction and reconstruction of roads, culverts, drains, markets, water supply line extension, pump house construction, establishment of water treatment plant, and development of school buildings.
The mayor informed that no new tax had been imposed while the existing rate of holding tax would remain unchanged.
