To celebrate the Great Victory Day, a “Great Victory Day Celebration and Cultural Programme” will be held on December 28 with the participation of expatriate Bangladeshis living in Portugal.

A fraud case has been filed in a Dhaka court against organisers, including a co-founder of Main Stage Inc, following the cancellation of Pakistani singer Atif Aslam's December 13 concert and the alleged failure to refund tickets.

Titled “Apon Aloy Shahid Mahmud Jangi: Gaaney Gaaney Souttor,” the programme brought together musicians, writers, and cultural figures to reflect on Jangi’s contribution to Bangladeshi music. The event was organised by Ajob Karkhana.

A special musical gathering titled “Apon Aloy Shahid Mahmud Jangi: Gane Gane Sattor” will be held on 12 December to celebrate the 70-year life and creative journey of renowned Bangladeshi lyricist Shahid Mahmud Jangi, whose contribution shaped the soundscape of the country’s band music in the 1980s and 1990s.

The singer experienced acute chest discomfort on Saturday night and was admitted around 2 am. Doctors diagnosed a cardiac problem and installed two stents to stabilise his condition. Hospital sources said Nachiketa is now in a stable condition.

Held on December 5, the event marked the group’s return to Dhaka after three years and drew an enthusiastic audience.

He began his musical journey in 2018 with three covers before making his original debut. “I started with a Rabindranath mashup, ‘Ei Mon Tomake Dilam’, and ‘Ei Poth Jodi Na Shesh Hoy’. Within a month, I released my first originals, ‘Mon Bojhena’ and then ‘Buker Ba Pashe’,” he reminisced. “I feel fortunate that people accepted me so early on.”

Tasnia Farin has returned to the spotlight with the release of her new track “Mon Golbe Na”, which also marks her debut as a producer. The song, released yesterday under her own banner Phoring Films, follows her earlier success as a singer.

A special cultural event titled “Harmony of Friendship” will take place at Rabindra Sarobar today to mark the 100th anniversary of Russian public diplomacy and Bangladesh’s Victory Day.
