Farid president, Shyamal secretary general of CJA, B
Farid Hossain, bureau chief of the Associated Press in Dhaka and Shyamal Dutta, editor of Bhorer Kagoj, have been elected president and secretary-general of the Bangladesh chapter of the Commonwealth Journalists' Association (CJA,B) at its general meeting.
CJA,B held its general meeting on Thursday, said a press release.
President emeritus of CJA International Hassan Shahriar opened the meeting as chief guest with a call for upholding freedom of press at all costs.
The meeting also decided to induct about 20 journalists as new members.
