2 killed, 25 hurt in road crashes

Two people were killed and twenty-five others injured in separate road accidents in Rangpur, Brahmanbaria and Magura on Sunday. Our Rangpur correspondent reports, Jobeda Begum, 45, was killed instantly as a brick-laden truck hit a motorbike carrying her on Rangpur-Badarganj road at Nisbetganj in Rangpur city on Sunday evening. In Brahmanbaria, at least 20 people were injured as a bus collided head-on with a truck on Comilla-Sylhet highway at Kharera village in Kasba upazila around 8:30pm on Sunday. Of the injured, 12 were taken to Kasba Upazila Health Complex while the others to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital. UNB from Magura reports, a man was killed and five others were injured as the front wheel of a human hauler disjointed at Kamarbari in Sripur upazila on Sunday noon. The deceased was identified as Babul Hossain, 35, resident of Sripur upazila. The injured were Dulal, 50, Delwar Hossain, 10, Nasimuddin, 20, Bodiar Rahman, 50, and Rikta Khatun, 22. The injured were rushed to sadar hospital where Babul Hossain succumbed to his injuries.
